TOUR DETAILS:
A five centre inn-to-inn, self-guided walking in Wales along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from Dale to St. Davids in the Pembrokeshire National Park. 6 nights bed and breakfast accommodation, 5 days walking, luggage transfer, return to Haverfordwest rail station, guide book and maps. Pembrokeshire, the Lands End of Wales, stretches its fingers far out towards the setting sun, a land of magic and mystery scattered with traces of bygone ages. Neolithic cromlechs stand on the headlands and Iron Age forts dot the hills, while St Davids mediaeval cathedral hides in its valley from the prying eyes of long-gone raiders. Here the coast is a birdwatchers paradise, where choughs and peregrines soar and guillemots and razorbills crowd on the cliff ledges. This Explore Britain tour in Wales follows the breathtaking twists and turns of the Coast Path. This tour starts at the tiny village of Dale to pass Mill Bay, where Henry Tudor landed to claim the English throne in 1485. As you round the headland opposite the marine nature reserve of Skomer, keep a sharp eye out for seals and porpoises disporting themselves amongst the waves. Past the tiny harbours of Solva and Porthclais you reach St Davids, where Wales' patron saint founded his monastery around 500 AD and the warm purple stone of the cathedral still exudes an intimacy lost by grander buildings.
You stop in country hotels, inns and guesthouses along the way, where accommodation is available in twin, double or single rooms, most but not all with private facilities. B&B and luggage transfer between the overnight stays and return to Haverfordwest rail station is inclusive.
This tour is operated by Explore Britain Walking based in County Durham in England.

Dinner can be taken at either of the pubs in the village (not included in tour price). Overnight Marloes, Pembrokeshire, Wales.
DAY THREE: Walking from Marloes to Little Haven. 8 miles (13km) and 250 feet of ascent. Today you are in and out around small headlands and sandy bays, all on a good coastal path.
