This Walk from Inverness to Mull across Wild Scotland holiday vacation can be booked by individuals but is very suitable for family groups or friends wanting to share a new experience together. TOUR DETAILS:
An eleven centre walking tour across the glens and highlands of Scotland from Inverness to Mull with an extra night in Oban and finishing at Glasgow. A 12 night tour to savour, with lots of variety and interest, some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. The trek takes you from the east coast of Scotland to the west coast on the Atlantic, with the scenery becoming more magnificent as you trek westwards. 8 days walking and 3 transfer days. Included in the package are taxi transfers to walks where detailed, daily baggage transfer, high detail walking maps and detailed itineraries with train tickets from the finish to Glasgow. Our easiest Scotland coast to coast. We do not advise this for single travelers, unless you are very fit and able, due to its remoteness from habitation. The trek starts from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, to Ardnamurchan Point and the Atlantic Ocean, then you return with an overnight in Oban to Glasgow via the lovely Isle of Mull. Highlights include the Great Glen Way, the Caledonian Canal, magnificent Glenfinnan and wild Ardnamurchan. If you arrive at Glenfinnan on a Tuesday, the highlight, the next day, is a cruise on Loch Sheil (instead of a bus).
With daily baggage transfers, your baggage will await you when you arrive ready for a shower and change of clothes. We prefer the east to west route as the scenery becomes more and more magnificent as you go west, culminating in an unforgettable experience as you approach the Atlantic, through the magnificent wilderness of Ardnamurchan.
The package includes 12 nights accommodation in specially selected Bed and breakfasts, guest houses and hotels, 2 evening meals, taxi transfers where required, daily baggage transfers, high detail walking maps and detailed itineraries and train tickets from the finish of the walk to Glasgow via Oban. Packed lunches are booked but NOT pre-paid. If you want them they can be ordered on arrival or purchased at local shops or along the way. We have included evening meals where stated as there are not really any realistic alternatives. In all other cases, evening meals are available in a number of places such as inns or restaurants near the accommodation.
This tour is operated by Explore Britain Walking based in County Durham in England.
