Help Using the XploreBritain Web Site
The illustration below shows standard page views taken from www.xplorebritain.com and some of the key elements that you will find on those pages
To enable you to find exactly what you want we will explain the following key elements below:
  1. The Home Page
  2. Tours Search
  3. Navigation
  4. The Tours Page
  5. Tours Synopsis
  6. Tour Information and Booking (not shown on illustration)
1. The Home Page
The home page features the Xplore Britain logo (top left) and Xplore Britain information links (black bar below logo) and the Navigation (left hand side).
These elements of the site allow you to quickly find any information you need at any point during your visit to www.xplorebritain.com.
(for ease of use, these elements remain constant throughout the site.)
The home page also features the unique Tours Search which is explained in more detail below.
2. Tours Search
The Tours Search (unique to the home page) allows you to pre-determine your desired holiday location and duration of stay, therefore providing you with tour information that is only relevant to your needs.
When performing a search, you will be taken to the Tours Synopsis which is explained in more detail below.
3. Navigation
The main Navigation for www.xplorebritain.com is displayed on the left hand side of every page for ease of use. From this navigation you can find tours to match your needs based on category or location.
Once you decide on a category or location you will be taken to a Tours Page page which is explained in more detail below.
4. The Tours Page
The tours page is similar in design to the Home Page but features information only relevant to the type of tour you are interested in (this depends on what you searched for or the selection you made from the navigation.)
More information about the Tours Page layout is available below in the Tours Synopsis section.
5. Tours Synopsis
The tours synopsis is a small section of the Tours Page - in the illustration we have shown the first displayed synopsis as this also features the Tours Count information.
The tour synopsis itself is the title and brief description of an available tour followed by a link (in bold) offering more information and the option to book that tour. (Tour Information and Booking is explained in more detail below.)
The tours count (mentioned above) displays the total number of relevant tours available, the tours page you are currently on and the total number of tours pages available.
6. Tour Information and Booking
Once you have clicked a 'more info' link from a Tours Synopsis you will be presented with a page displaying information relevant only to the tour of your choice.
The information included is:
  1. Tour name
  2. Tour code
  3. Tour location
  4. Tour period
  5. Dates available
  6. Shared occupancy price
  7. Single occupancy price
  8. A verbose description of the tour
  9. A breakdown of the daily programme including arrival and departure
  10. Travel information and links to travel operators
  11. Tour grading information
  12. Booking option
  13. Contact details
The booking option is a simple request for your name and email address. Once you supply us with these details you will receive an automated confirmation of your booking enquiry which will be promptly followed by a personal response from myself (Phillip Scriver).
The booking enquiry response will include details of the tour and a link for you to follow to your own personal booking page. Once you have reviewed your booking page, you can book your tour simply by arranging dates, times, party size and payment details with us.
